Hello! My name is Aleksandra. Psychology is not just my profession—it’s a big part of my life and passion. I specialize in integrating evidence-based approaches like CBT, schema therapy, DBT, and EMDR to create personalized and effective therapeutic experiences for each client. Whether you are navigating emotional dysregulation, trauma, or interpersonal challenges, my goal is to offer a compassionate, supportive, and growth-oriented space for healing and self-discovery.

I immerse myself in psychology daily—reading, reflecting, attending professional workshops (often over weekends), and having countless, insightful conversations. Podcasts and seminars are also a constant source of inspiration, helping me blend practical knowledge with theoretical insights. Importantly, I apply many of the therapeutic techniques I use in my practice—emotional regulation strategies, reprocessing techniques, and mindfulness—on myself. This hands-on approach gives me a deep, personal understanding of how these methods can transform lives, especially over time.

That said, psychotherapy is not my only great love! I cherish spending time with friends and staying active through running, hiking, snowboarding, and surfing. Improv theater and language learning are other passions that add creativity and fun to my life. And of course, I enjoy unwinding with a good (non-psychological!) book every now and then.

Education

I am Aleksandra, a psychology graduate from the prestigious Jagiellonian University, where I specialized in therapeutic psychology, clinical psychology, and health psychology. I further deepened my knowledge and research skills by studying Psychology: Theory and Research at KU Leuven in Belgium.

My clinical and therapeutic experience spans working in various psychiatric hospitals that specialize in treating anxiety disorders, depression, and personality disorders. In addition to this, I have provided psychotherapy in private therapy centers in both Cracow, Poland, and Brussels, Belgium, offering support to clients from diverse backgrounds.

I am currently undergoing advanced training at a four-year Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) school in Warsaw, where I continue to refine my therapeutic skills. I have completed certified training in schema therapy through the International Society of Schema Therapy and attended their international biannual conference to stay updated on the latest developments in this field.

My commitment to continuous professional development is reflected in my additional qualifications, including specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focused on emotional dysregulation, acquired while working in a psychiatric hospital. I also participated in an EMDR workshop in London, gaining expertise in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.

Specialization

I specialize in providing evidence-based therapies tailored to individual needs, drawing on several key therapeutic approaches:

  • Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A broad and practical approach aimed at addressing distressing symptoms, reducing anxiety, reevaluating thought patterns, and promoting constructive behaviors. CBT empowers individuals with tools and techniques to ultimately become their own therapists, fostering long-term growth and resilience.
  • Schema Therapy: A deeper therapeutic approach that addresses early experiences and unmet emotional needs. By combining experiential techniques, cognitive restructuring, and a focus on the therapeutic relationship, schema therapy helps break dysfunctional patterns and promotes emotional healing and healthier behaviors.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A specialized therapy for processing and healing from traumatic experiences. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to reduce the emotional impact of painful memories, helping individuals move forward with a sense of relief and long-term well-being.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): An approach focused on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT provides practical tools to help individuals manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve relationships.

I also incorporate mindfulness techniques into all therapies to enhance self-awareness and help clients respond to their emotions and life challenges in a thoughtful, constructive way. My work spans a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, trauma, personality disorders, relational challenges, grief, and more.

At the core of my practice is a commitment to reducing suffering and helping clients reach their potential in a non-judgmental, supportive environment.

Supervision

I am committed to providing the highest standard of care by regularly supervising my work and adhering to the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for Psychologists. I participate in three supervisions per month, creating an invaluable space to reflect on challenges and obstacles in therapy. With the client’s prior consent, these sessions allow me to enhance the therapy process, refine techniques, and design a truly personalized approach that aligns with the client’s unique temperament and life story.

My supervisions are rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and schema therapy, ensuring that I stay aligned with evidence-based practices. Continuous professional development is not only an ethical responsibility but also a deep source of fulfillment for me. It allows me to effectively support clients with increasingly complex challenges and intricate life experiences, tailoring the therapeutic process to their specific needs with care and precision.
